Dr. Cohen is an Associate Professor of Statistics and Data Science.

Achraf Cohen is a multidisciplinary researcher working at the intersection of statistics, artificial intelligence, clinical research, and translational health sciences. His work focuses on developing statistically rigorous and clinically interpretable AI and machine learning methods to improve prediction and decision-making in healthcare. His research spans sports medicine, orthopedics, metabolic and mental health, survivorship science, wearable sensing, and AI-driven health analytics.

He has experience leading and collaborating on clinical and translational research projects involving large-scale observational datasets, clinical registries, multimodal biomedical data, and prospective cohort studies. His methodological interests include latent class analysis, causal inference, predictive modeling, longitudinal data analysis, mixed-effects modeling, uncertainty quantification, and trustworthy AI for healthcare applications.

In addition to methodological research, Achraf Cohen is actively engaged in advancing AI integration in higher education and statistical education, with interests in human-AI collaboration, AI-assisted advising systems, and data science education.
