Dr. Kocak's research covers a wide range of areas within the Civil & Environmental Engineering discipline. His research mainly focuses on geotechnical, structural, transportation, and material science. He has been actively working on research projects with colleagues from industry, academia, and government. He recently secured over a million dollars in funding for the development of extraterrestrial construction materials and methods with NASA-KSC. Some of his research interests are;
