Bio & Expertise

Nan Zhang holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University with research focused on materials for energy conversion and storage devices. Meanwhile pursuing her Ph.D., she worked for the National Energy Technology Laboratory studying the microwave catalysis approaches to produce hydrogen under low temperature and pressure. After Ph.D., She joined Saint-Gobain, driving the low carbon footprint of business units including abrasives, coated solutions, refractories. Her research interests revolve solid oxide fuel/electrolysis cells, performance ceramics & refractories, plasma, heterogeneous catalysis. She is motivated by research contributions to the materials, gas, and oil industry especially in lowering the carbon footprint.
