Dr. Lauren A Ricciardelli

Dr. Lauren Ricciardelli serves as Assistant Chair of the Department of Social Work at the University of West Florida. Additionally, Dr. Ricciardelli is a tenured, associate professor of social work. She teaches research and evaluation, theory, and policy. She has professional experience working with Department of Juvenile Justice-involved youth and their families; youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance in the school setting; adults with Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities in the community setting; and experience in the renal dialysis setting. Dr. Ricciardelli's research examines the convergence of legal and social/ service systems with a focus on implications for public policy, impacted individuals and communities, and the social work profession. Her secondary research line examines the relationships between digital information and communications technology and ethical social work practice at the larger systems levels. Ricciardelli served as guest editor for the special issue entitled, "Social Work in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Ethical Implications for Practice, Education, Research, & Society": Journal of Evidence-Based Social Work: Vol 23, No 1
