Dr. Nye Grant, a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Construction Management, has taught in the University of West Florida Building Construction since 2010. He has taught a variety of courses during his time at UWF, and taken the opportunity to broaden his teaching and research interests. Dr. Grant aims to provide the best educational experience possible for students in the program through project-based learning, real-world scenarios and assignments, and hands-on, field experiences. Dr. Grant worked for Moss and Associates Construction Management, LLC, and as a Senior Planner for the Orange County Division prior to earning his Ph.D. in Construction Management from the University of Florida in 2010. Through teaching and field experience, Dr. Grant has developed interests in many aspects of construction science. He has published work in Sustainable Construction, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Water Conservation, Affordable Housing, and Construction Safety. His work has been featured in peer-reviewed publications such as Building Research and Information, the Journal of Industrial Ecology, the International Journal of Life Cycle Assessment, Journal of Green Building, Water Science and Technology: Water Supply, and Safety Science. Dr. Grant’s current research agenda includes Developing World Building Technologies, Urban Metabolism, Rudimentary Structures, Alternative Building Materials, Rudimentary Structures, Water Conservation, Rapid and Additive Manufacturing.
