Small-scale design projects offer faculty and instructional designers a unique opportunity to collaborate on solving instructional challenges and adding creative elements to courses. This presentation will be divided into three main parts. First, we will introduce the concept of small-scale design projects and discuss their benefits. Second, we will provide examples of successful small-scale design projects that have fostered relationships between faculty and instructional designers, solved instructional challenges, and added creative elements to courses. Finally, we will offer practical tips for implementing small-scale design projects, including collaborating effectively and building on these small successes.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the webinar, attendees will be able to:
Evaluate at least three successful examples of small-scale design projects that have fostered collaboration between faculty and instructional designers, solved instructional challenges, and enhanced course creativity.
Apply practical tips for implementing small-scale design projects, including effective collaboration strategies and methods for building upon initial successes.
Develop a plan for implementing a small-scale design project in their own instructional contexts, including setting specific goals, identifying stakeholders, and outlining key steps for successful execution.
