The Day We Became Wolvesis an animatic short film that analyzes current political tensions in the United States through an abstract lens. This animatic depicts the country becoming more politically unstable. This abstract presentation involves people turning into animals whenever someone engages in violence against them or when they feel threatened. The reason for this is twofold, to imbue the work with a greater sense of anthropomorphism that makes the viewer engage in the work more intently, and secondly, to make the viewer care for the characters more closely by giving them traits favored in animals. There are characters of various backgrounds depicted through a variety of lenses. The main goal of this visual work is to make the audience engage more intently with the work and find the main issues that cause political tension in the United States, such as historical racism, microaggressions, focus on culture or "culture wars," and emphasis on in and out-groups.
