Safe sleep practices have been directly linked to reducing sudden and unexpected infant deaths (SUID) which are evident from 1994's. “Back To Sleep” campaign which was the forerunner safe sleep practices for infants and saw a 50% reduction of SUID related deaths. Since that campaign, further practices have been implemented to further reduce occurrence of SUID to low as 3.4 cases per 10,000 births from 6.4(Huang et all, 2025). In addition to safe sleep practices, education methods have improved to capture a broader audience to ensure compliance with recommendations (Aggelou, 2025).
