Abstract
Total hip replacement (THR) surgeries have traditionally been associated with prolonged hospitalization, a practice widely accepted as the standard, despite limited evidence supporting its necessity. Recent studies suggest that early mobilization of THR patients may offer significant benefits, including reduced hospital stays and improved recovery outcomes. However, the question remains whether early ambulation is more therapeutically advantageous than current standard practices. The literature presents conflicting perspectives on the efficiency of early emulation, as well as challenges in its integration into routine clinical care. This review aims to explore the existing body of research to determine whether a consensus can be reached on the optimal timing and implementation of early ambulation and THR recovery, and to evaluate the potential therapeutic benefits in comparison to traditional post operative care protocols.
