Dementia is a neurocognitive brain disease that presents itself with impaired memorization, activities of daily living, and cognition. Dementia patients often present with signs of agitation and depression. Researching comfort measures for dementia patients could alleviate the negative effects of the disease. The use of musical therapy uses musical instruments by either the patient or other parties in order to stimulate different aspects of a patient's brain and health to alleviate comorbidities of dementia.
