One of the problems with increasing technological advances in society is the effect it has on school aged children. According to reports from the National Institutes of health (NIH), approximately 52.9 million children worldwide were identified as having developmental delays. Many children develop a strong attachment to their devices, which can adversely affect their developmental trajectories, social skills, and attention spans. As noted in recent research, “children who spend more than one hour in front of screens in early childhood, and over two hours daily after the age of five, exhibit a range of health issues and difficulties in various daily activities” (Tekeci et al., 2024, p. 2). These findings underscore the need for evaluation of screen time to support healthier developmental outcomes in children.
