Glass making is one of the oldest and well-known crafts in modern day civilization with techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation. Many are quick to assume that the techniques and chemical composition has stayed consistent. For this project we set out to find out if archaeological sites could be contextualized by the chemical composition of the glass found there using portable x-ray fluorescence (pXRF).
