Abstract
Between 1980 and 2013 the childhood obesity rate has risen by 47.1% (Ma. J, 2020). Prevention is key because children who are obese are more likely to become obese as an adult, leading to comorbidities. Bottle feeding has been shown to facilitate overfeeding and rapid weight gain (Alison K, 2020). In comparison, infants who are breastfed have decreased odds of developing obesity between the ages of 2 and 5 (Yan. J, et. al, 2014).
