Abstract

Positive patient outcomes are the priority of nursing care. Patient outcomes are affected by various factors during a patient's hospital stay. One factor that directly affects patient care and outcomes is the end-of-shift nurse handoff report. This allows nurses to properly communicate the status of their patient and any changes that occurred during their shift. There are many variations of the end-of-shift-report, this study will investigate the effects of completing a bedside-shift-report on patient outcomes.
