Case Presentation
In this study we report the case of a 7-week-old female infant who presented to a private pediatric office with subtle symptoms of emesis, pallor, irritability, and lethargy. She was referred to a pediatric tertiary hospital and discharged after 23 hours of observation. She returned to the tertiary hospital approximately 24 hours later with worsening symptoms. She was observed again for 23 hours and scheduled for discharge until the nurse practitioner, who is her primary care provider, requested additional work-up.
