At present, there is not much discussion in the electronics literature about the concept and the potential applications of inserting a transistor in the feedback path of an operational amplifier. This article introduces this concept to the audience of engineers and engineering students and discusses its potential applications. Applications such as precision switching, the ideal BJT and the ideal differential amplifier are some of the very important applications introduced here.
