Abstract
Information resources and technology are two pillars of the library infrastructure. As academic librarians, we must develop, maintain, and expand partnerships with the information technology companies because these companies have evolved to become content providers and archivists, not just information intermediaries. As a result, these information technology companies are becoming more “mission critical” in our management and delivery of information services to our students and faculty. The information technology companies are a critical component of our information and collection development policies.
