Taking a laissez-faire approach. to casino development, the state of Mississippi has become the number two or three gaming state in the United States. The $1.5 billion industry is found in several clusters or casinos across the Gulf Coast and the Mississippi River. Biloxi and Tunica Counties are the leading locations. As the industry matures, there is a shake-out, as both smaller and geographically ii/located casinos are unable to compete effectively for gambling dollars.
