Perhaps nowhere in the undergraduate psychology curriculum are students more motivated to learn the content and skills than in abnormal psychology. In this article, I examine the unique learning opportunities provided by abnormal psychology. I identify three contrasting pedagogical approaches for teaching this course and advocate the model that develops broad liberal arts skills in a science context.
