Abstract

feedback compensation method image improvement Electrical Engineering or Electronics Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Image degradation due to motion is a serious problem in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Several methods have been proposed to eliminate motion artifacts with varying degrees of success. This thesis presents a new approach that uses feedback to automatically compensate for the motion effects during the imaging process. Before presenting the new approach, this thesis first reviews prior work in the application of feedback concepts to MRI. A motion compensation method based on feedback control is then presented. The new approach is successfully demonstrated for a one-dimensional system using computer simulations.
