Curtis is running from something, running as fast as he can away from a danger that only he can sense. He can't stop, because if he does it will catch up to him. He is starting to remember how he got where he is, and the only way he can find his way back to reality is through those memories. Curtis is not a monster, he knows that face, but his world collides with other people--and in those moments it becomes clear that Curtis is unaware of the world around him. Sneaker Song examines what it means to be Curtis, what it means to run from the things that have shaped you. Using both close third person and first person perspectives, this story follows Curtis and how he came to end up in a dumpster covered in his own blood, running from his father and the past that keeps him separated from reality.
