Abstract
Jake Anderson is a man without a past. Awaking one morning with no recollection of his personal history or identity, Jake, a young mechanic whose gift with music has earned him the title of savant, is searching for meaning and purpose in his life when he encounters a stranger at a bar. Andrew Bennington, shrewd marketing representative for Longhorn Ink Entertainment, quickly becomes Jake's raison d'etre, but will it last when Andrew's business success and Jake's criminal activities threaten to end it? Full Throttle is a story that brings together the underworld of drag racing with the elite world of public relations to explore such themes as artistic perception, inspiration and alienation; aesthetics; art; music and literature; memory and contemporary consciousness of experience; agency and predestination; intersubjectivity; capitalism; homosexuality; and the possible nature of the being of God.
