Abstract
A bacteriophage is a virus that infects and kills bacteria in order to replicate. It injects its DNA into the host bacterium, and phages began replicating within the bacterium. There are two types of bacteriophage. Virulent phages began this process of replicating as soon as they inject their own ONA into the bacterium. Temperate phages allow their genetic material to be incorporated into the bacterium's chromosome. They begin producing phages within the bacterium when they are triggered. Eventually, the phages burst out of the bacterium and search for more bacteria to infect repeating the cycle.
