Abstract
In today s digital age, children measure their self-worth through likes and comments on social media. Social media platforms expose children to cyberbullying, unrealistic beauty standards, and addictive behaviors, all of which contribute to anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues. With children spending hours daily on these platforms, concerns over the long-term effects of social media on mental health continue to rise. This research investigates the extent of social media s negative impact on children s mental health through a review of existing literature and an in-depth interview with Dr. Steven Kass, an expert in human factors and the psychology of learning.
