Abstract

Previous studies have highlighted the significant anti-microbial, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-tubercular, anti-diabetic, and anti-convulsant properties of benzo[b]thiophenes. Specifically, prior studies indicate 3-halobenzo[b]thiophene derivatives with benzenemethanol substitution at the 2-position have been associated with antibacterial properties.
