Abstract
The goal for this study is to use a framework called Grand Strategy Analysis (GSA) to study Sweden’s recent application to NATO. By applying the GSA framework to this case, we aim to demonstrate both GSA’s utility as an analytical tool as well as reframe Swedish grand strategy in terms that will be readily comparable across other cases. We also aim to determine if Sweden’s grand strategy is in fact ad hoc or relatively consistent over time.
