The SAE Aero team of the 22-23 academic year researched, designed, and built an aircraft following the SAE Micro competition rules, which takes place on April 14-17 in Fort Worth, Texas. The 2023 event marks UWF’s fifth year in attendance. Our goal is to finish as one of the top three strongest teams this year. The goals and requirements specified by the competition’s Micro class are to design a plane of restricted size and power input while transporting cargo boxes and weights. The graph below depicts the three main elements impacting the final flight score. Teams can increase their score by reducing flight time and carrying additional cargo boxes and weight.
