Abstract
Hitler and his henchmen victimized an entire European population and exterminated millions in his quest for the "Master Race." Hitler's so-called "Master Race" was not a concept he came up with on his own. The idea was born in the United States and became known as the American eugenic movement. Eugenics is the practice of improving the human race by selectively mating people with specific desirable traits. The American eugenics movement took a dark turn in the early twentieth century, and many leaders of the movement openly influenced and supported Hitler's quest for the "Master Race."
