Abstract
Objective: 1) Measure the speed of sound to experimentally determine the heat capacity ratios of various gases utilizing two microphones within the vacuum chamber. 2) The speed will be measured at temperatures above and below room temperature to determine how the speed of sound changes as a function of temperature. 3) Experimental speed of sound and heat capacity ratios will be determined and compared to known literature values for each. 4) Confirm the accuracy of experimental data using percent error and standard deviation.
