In Spring 2021, a consulting team, comprised of graduate students, partnered with the University of West Florida's (UWF) Psychology Department to conduct a job analysis for the Graduate Assistant position within the Department. A job analysis is the process of gathering, documenting, and analyzing three features of work: the content of the job, worker attributes related to the performance of the job, and the context in which the job is performed. The primary function of a job analysis is to identify the tasks associated with a job, as well as the knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics (KSAOs) that are necessary to perform the job.
