Abstract
The purpose of this qualitative case study is to investigate how technology impacts teachers' and students' attitudes in a fifth grade science classroom. Twenty-one fifth grade students were observed and completed a Likert-type written survey. Two science educators participated in a focus group session, were observed, and completed a Likert-type written survey. The educators believed the professional development provided by the school district was an adequate, fair, and beneficial to integrate technology in their daily instruction. Factors which contributed to the integration of technology were external barriers, internal barriers, and general barriers. The majority of the students surveyed, 81%, exhibited a positive attitude toward the integration of technology in a science classroom. All educators surveyed exhibited a positive attitude toward the integration of technology in a science classroom.
