The collection, analysis, and preservation of digital forensic data are complementary activities that are ushered by our growing dependence on Information Technology. The training of professionals, who can effectively carry out these activities, suddenly becomes a paramount issue and a major motivation for the IT academic community. This paper presents an on-going study on a pedagogical approach of melding and applying various knowledge areas in computer science towards the establishment and stimulation of undergraduate research in computer security and forensics.
