Security monitoring is the process of maintaining vigilance over the integrity of Information Technology resources: infrastructure and data.
Visual tools to monitor the state of system security provide additional instruments that can alleviate the tedious exercise of thwarting the possibility of widespread havoc brought about by cyber attacks. Although there have been numerous works on the application of visualization to information security, most of those works tend to address and process security data that are mostly static and gleaned from historical data.
This paper discusses an on-going work on the design and implementation of visual security monitoring gadgets that can be used to monitor, in real-time, the security posture of a system.
