Abstract

According to the Alzheimer’s Association by 2025 the number of Older Floridians with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia (ADRD) is expected to increase 33% (1) • Neuropsychiatric symptoms are prevalent and challenging to manage (2-3) • Non-pharmacologic interventions be used first (4-5) • Nonpharmacologic interventions effective at managing neuropsychiatric symptoms (5-6) • Commonly, antipsychotics prescribed to manage symptoms (4) • These symptoms may lead to greater dependence on others and inactivity leading to long term care placement • Adapted dance is an intervention that may be effective at improving symptoms
