Abstract
Engaging with stakeholders in higher education can be a challenging task, as conventional communication methods often fail to capture the attention and interest of diverse audiences. To overcome this challenge, the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology (CTLT) at the University of West Florida (UWF) has adopted digital communication platforms and modern pedagogical practices to revolutionize its approach and deepen its connections with all campus stakeholders. Communication is tailored to the specific needs and interests of each recipient by analyzing stakeholder preferences and behaviors through data-driven insights. However, the success of CTLT's approach is not solely attributed to technology and data. The integration of playful strategies, such as games, stories, and interactive experiences, helps to forge meaningful and collaborative connections with stakeholders. This fosters a sense of community and collaboration that transcends traditional boundaries. The innovative approach used by CTLT has had a profound impact on faculty engagement at UWF. By combining the power of technology with proven pedagogical practices, the CTLT has rewritten the narrative of faculty engagement and set an example for faculty to follow, encouraging them to create meaningful connections with their peers and their students. These efforts have resulted in increased engagement levels and positive feedback from stakeholders who feel genuinely seen, heard, and valued.
