Exercise intensity is an important determinant of energy expenditure (EE) during and following exercise. Recent evidence suggests that total energy expenditure, independent of exercise intensity, may be more important for weight loss programs. Moderate or low intensity exercise will allow for greater fat oxidation rates during exercise but little is known of post-exercise substrate utilisation. PUrPose:The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of low and moderate intensity exercise on substrate utilization and energy expenditure during and after exercise.
