Abstract
Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is characterized by obstructed hemodynamics through peripheral arteries and exercise induced claudication. With increased disease severity, a myopathy has been shown to develop in PAD patients that is only partially explained by altered hemodynamics. Characterization of PAD induced changes in skeletal muscle needs further elucidation.
