Abstract
The various types of pedoturbation play a large role in archaeological site formation processes, but they usually are not taken under consideration at first unless obvious evidence is encountered. For sites with loose sandy soil, like the Tristán de Luna Settlement Site, the full extent of the effects of pedoturbation can be easy to overlook. Using historical and environmental research, locational data of olive jar sherds, and mending analysis of said sherds from two different areas of the Luna Site, this study illustrates the effects that multiple types of pedoturbation have on stable sandy sites. This study was completed with the goal of assisting future excavations at the Luna site, however it can easily be adapted for analysis at numerous other sites.
